On a leaf spring car are weight jacks allowed on the rear axle? thanks Ken

Yes you can.

12. Weight jacks allowed. Car or truck must use same type of suspension that it came out of the factory with. Leaf spring cars must remain leaf spring, coil springs may not be used. Coil spring cars must remain coil spring, leaf springs may not be used. One racing style shock allowed per wheel. No coil overs.

Hey DRR- Are we still able to add coils in conjunction with the leafs as a weight jack. I drove Dunlaps car last season with this type of setup and it seems much easier to build into car and quite possibly alot safer and more stable than jacking the end of a spring. I thought it was a very good idea.

Thanks! Randy Horton Jr.:)

Yes and No

Sorry, you can't use coils in conjunction with leaf springs. You can however use weight jacks in the rear. Example: If your car has leaf springs, the weight jack should be mounted in place of the rear spring shackle. If your car has coil springs, weight jacks may be mounted to the top of the coil springs. This is one of the items that will be checked during tech this year.

Hopefully this answered your questions!

If you have any more questions, let me know.

Thanks!

thanks for the reply

Thanks, lot of research says the weight jacks located at the end of the spring are not a very reliable way to do it. I guess I'll just not mess with that. What is allowable for carburetors? I would like to use a motorcraft on my s-10 or a 350 holley, is either choice o.k.? thanks Ken

Here's the carb rule

2. Factory stock carburetors or Holley 500 2 barrel with a 2 inch maximum spacer and/or adaptor plate is permitted. No fuel injection. 1 3/8” venturi rule applies.

The complete rules are at www.doerunraceway.com

Thanks and let me know if you have any more questions!
