Friday May 8, 2009 at Paducah International Raceway, Sanders Kubota will be on hand for the Money Drop that will take place during intermission for children 12 and under. Children 12 and under will be split up into three age groups 1-3, 4-8, and 9-12 year olds. The children will all be scrambling to see how much money they can stuff into their pockets on the front stretch during intermission.
On the card for racing action will be the UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Pro Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, and the UMP 4 Cylinder Warriors.
Jason McBride as of 4-28-2009 is leading the UMP National Points for Late Model Division. Randle Sweeney is leading the points nationally for the UMP Modified Division. Tait Davenport is the defending National Champion and is currently leading the National Points chase in 2009 for the UMP Pro Late Model Division.
Many Late Model drivers might be taking this extra week to get more laps logged at PIR in preparation for May 14, 2009 and May 15, 2009 as PIR has rescheduled the races that were a wash out on May 1st and 2nd. Thursday May 14 the UMP Late Models will be attacking the high banks for a $3,000 to win payout and on May 15th The Lucas Oil Late Model Division will go for the $10,000 to win Late Model Special.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006.
