Schrader to race his Rocket Late Model at Paducah May 1 and 2nd

Ken Schrader has announced that he will be in attendance and racing in the Late Model division at Paducah International Raceway on both Friday May 1st for a $3000 to win UMP Special and Saturday May 2nd for the first ever Lucas Oil race at the 3/8 mile high banked speedplant. Piloting a Rocket chassis that took him to victory lane the last time he raced it a PIR Schrader will have to hold of the challenges of 2 time and defending UMP National Champion Dennis Erb Jr., current track point leader and former track champion Kevin Cole, defending track champion Dillon Thompson, and a host of other fine local talent. A large field of competitors is expected to not only vie for the $3000 first place money but to also get some track time for the next night Lucas Oil event.

Other drivers expected for the weekends racing are Scott Bloomquist (current Lucas Oil point leader) Earl Pearson (defending Lucas Oil Champ and currently 2nd in their points), Mr. Smooth Billy Moyer, Jimmy Owens, Josh McGuire, and Dale McDowell.Make sure you bring you signs as on May 2nd the Speed TV cameras will invade the property to tape the nights events for a 1 hour broadcast to be shown later in the year. This is going to be one of the biggest weekends in the track history.

Other divisions participating in Fridays program are the UMP Modifieds, the UMP Pro (crate) Late Models and the Kentucky Vintage Cars. On Saturday the UMP Street Stocks (paying $200 to win) UMP 4 Cylinder Warriors (paying $35 to start), and the Kentucky Vintage Association will be on the card.

Also do not forget that if you bring your paid adult admission ticket from Friday nights program to the ticket booth on Saturday you will receive a $5 discount on grandstand admission.

Both nights programs are set to kick off with hot laps at 6, qualifying for the Late Models at 630 and and racing at 7.

Pit gate will open both days at 2 pm with the grandstand gate opening at 3pm

Gate prices for Friday are $20 for adults with children 12 and under $5 and
pit passes will be $30. Saturday gate prices are $25 for adults with
children 12 and under $5 and pit passes will be $35.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent
purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time
NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in
September of 2006. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night
