Seibers Honors Michael "Gut" Gillespie with Clarksville Victory

CHAPEL HILL, Tenn. (06/02/20) – David Seibers recorded his second win of the season Saturday night, piloting his G.P.S. Motorsports No. 18 S.M.S. Plumbing/ Frisky Motorsports/ Black Diamond Race Car/ Custom Race Engine Super Late Model to victory at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway.

An emotional Seibers dedicated the win to his close friend and racing partner, Michael “Gut” Gillespie who passed away late Saturday night. “I’m said to say that I lost a really good friend and racing partner. I’m just happy that held on tonight until after this win. I done this for him, and he will be dearly missed,” Seibers commented after the race.

After qualifying third overall for the Weekly Racing Series event, David went on to a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Gavin Schmidt. Starting the $1,200-to-win A-Main in third, Seibers brought home the feature victory, crossing the finish line ahead of Caleb Ashby, Levi, Ashby, Don Young, and Jeremy Anderson.
