Twenty-three different winners took their modified to victory lane and claimed the $2000 paycheck. The look for the 2003 race season is looking better than 2002 with more than thirty races already scheduled for 2003. Also in the works for next season is a new USMTS South Series that will have races in TX, LA, AR, MS, and OK. This series will be completely different than the USMTS series that races right now. This will be a series down south and will be raced on weekends. The possibility of races on the same day will be good. The racing in the south will have 10-20 race nights. More than 1200 different modified drivers raced with the USMTS in 2002. In 2002 USMTS paid race drivers more than $900,000 in all classes. USMTS is currently working on a title sponsor for next season to take the USMTS to the next level.

The race schedule will not change to much from this last season. License applications will be available December 1 to guarantee car numbers for next season and drivers numbers are on a first come first serve basis this will be all regions and also the south series.
