Inside Line Promotions - GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Aug. 19, 2019) - Sides Motorsports had a strong start to the night last Friday at River Cities Speedway, which hosted the Second Leg of the Northern Tour.

Teammates Jason Sides and Tim Kaeding both qualified in the top six, landing front row starting spots for their World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series heat races. Starting on the outside lane wasn't as favorable and both Sides and Kaeding lost a position to finish third, which cost them a spot in the dash. Kaeding lined up eighth and Sides ninth for the main event.

"The track started out not very wet and they tilled the bottom and the top and left a little curb around the top to make it raceable," Sides said. "After the late models race it developed a rut. The longer the night went the wetter the track went. It got so sticky. We had that red on the first lap. TK put some more gear in it and we changed some stuff around. We went 10 or 12 laps before we had that second long red. I changed my stuff back because it wasn't any better. The track was choppy, wet, but dry. It was a weird night."

Kaeding finished 11th and Sides was credited with a 16 th-place outing.

Saturday's event at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., rained out.

Next up for the team is a World of Outlaws show on Friday at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., during the NOS Energy Drink Rushmore Outlaw Showdown before a race on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont., during The Brawl at Big Sky Speedway.

"I'd like to have a couple of good runs," Sides said. "NOS is putting in some extra money for Rapid City so that always helps."

Kaeding is scheduled to return to Sides Motorsports the following weekend.
