SILENT AUCTION OF RACING MEMORABILIA TO HELD AT SHOOTOUT TO BENEFIT INJURED
DRIVER DUAYNE HOMMEL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MOORESVILLE, NC - The dirt late model racing community is coming together
to put on a Silent Auction of racing memorabilia to benefit 25-year-old
seriously injured driver Duayne Hommel of Newport, TN. It will take place
during the Xtreme DirtCar Series 14th Annual Hardee's Shootout Presented By
Coca-Cola this Friday and Saturday night at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA.

Several top dirt late model teams, and some Winston Cup teams will be
sending various race car parts and team apparel to the silent auction that
will be set up on Dixie Speedway's Souvenir Row in Duayne Hommel's Souvenir
Trailer.

Among the items to be auctioned off are two doors and a roof off Hommel's
race car, and an autographed door from Winston Cup star Ken Schrader's dirt
late model. There will also be an item auctioned off that has a very
significant historical value.

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN has autographed and donated to the
auction the helmet he wore on Sunday night when won his 100th XDCS career
win, and clinched his fifth series championship by winning the RaceFest
World Championship race at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Parkersburg, WV.

There will also be a raffle for a helmet that was designed by Ron "Flea"
Fleenor of Race Art Design especially for Duayne Hommel to wear next season.
It is a "one-off" design helmet, and the tickets will be sold for $1 apiece
at the Hommel Souvenir Trailer. The winning ticket will be drawn just
before the start of the Hardee's Shootout on Saturday night.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for another custom helmet from Full Moon
Graphics, and the winning ticket for that helmet will be drawn later in the
year.

In addition to the auction and raffle items, there will be Duyane Hommel
T-Shirts and decals on sale. The proceeds from the auction, raffles,
apparel and decals will go to benefit Hommel and his family; wife Christi
and one-year-old son Daegen.

Hommel's #H2 dirt late model will be on display at the Hommel Souvenir
Trailer on Souvenir Row on Friday and Saturday. It will also serve as the
pace car to bring the top drivers in the nation down for the start of the
100-lap $55,000-to-win main event on Saturday night. Duayne's uncle, Mitch
Turner, will drive it.

There will also be a giant Get Well card for Duayne that should be big
enough for every fan, competitor and official at Dixie Speedway this weekend
to sign during the weekend.

Hommel was critically injured on September 23 in a two-car highway accident
near his Newport, TN home. Hommel crested a hill to find an on-coming car
in his lane. Hommel swerved his Chevrolet Envoy SUV into a ditch to avoid
the on-coming car, and it came back across the road into another ditch,
flipped five times, and threw Hommel from the vehicle.

Hommel was airlifted with a life-threatening head injury by Lifestar
helicopter to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN,
where he has remained since. After a rough first week, Hommel's condition
began to improve and he has recently been upgraded to serious condition.

Hommel had made it known just before his accident, that he was preparing for
a run not only the XDCS Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year title in 2004, but also
the series championship in the same year. Hommel was the 2002 Champion of
the Alabama-based Southern All-Star Series, and was leading the SAS point
standings at the time of his highway accident.

For those unable to attend the Shootout, but would still like to show their
support for Duyane and his young family, they can make a donation to the
National Bank of Tennessee, ATTN: Duayne Hommel Fund, P.O. Box 669,
Newport, TN 37822.
