SPOON RIVER SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES 2024 MANAGEMENT TEAM, MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2023, FIRST TRACK MEETING.

Spoon River Speedway will make a major announcement about their 2024 racing program on Thursday, November 9, 2023. The announcement will include classes racing for the 2024 season and other details.

In addition, New Spoon River Speedway Promoter Cloyd Barden is pleased to announce our Management Team for the 2024 season. -

Bartonville, IL native Jimmy Hibser will serve as Competition Director and will be responsible for track prep. A 30-year racing veteran, and 4-time SRS UMP Modified Track Champion, Hibser will be overseeing track prep, the tech area, and will serve as Competition Director on race nights. Hibser held the Track Record for UMP Modifieds at SRS from 1997 to 2015.

“When I heard that Spoon River was potentially for sale, Jimmy was the first guy I contacted and he has been a huge help in getting this done”, said Barden. “Jimmy knows what racers are looking for in a racetrack, and his experience is invaluable. We want SRS to be a terrific experience for the racers and crew. I’m confident Jimmy will be a huge asset and a valuable partner moving forward. His energy and enthusiasm are unmatched!”

Karlee Dreyer will be the Food and Concessions Manager, overseeing a completely revamped menu and will seek ways to improve the speed and flow of the food lines. Dreyer will be commuting from her home in Quincy and brings 20 years of Food and Beverage Management to SRS.

“We know how bad the lines have been historically at SRS, so we hope to get that worked out with an improved concession area which will make it quicker to get in and out”, said Barden. “Karlee is the perfect choice to streamline this process and get a menu of top-quality food for our fans and competitors. We are excited to have her.”

Jeff Adams will serve as Marketing and PR Director, responsible for all Marketing efforts and media relations. Jeff has 40 years of experience in the racing business, most recently as the Motorsports Columnist for the Peoria Journal Star and Pekin Daily Times. Jeff has worked in various roles as Track Announcer, PR and Marketing Director at Peoria Speedway and Paducah, KY International Raceway, Radio Host of the Central Illinois Racing Report, and racing columnist for various racing publications.

“Jeff fills a role in getting our Marketing efforts, as well as Social Media exposure, to levels we feel a first-class facility needs”, said Barden. “Jimmy and Jeff have known each other since High School and work well together. We have huge plans to make this a Destination Facility and we feel Jeff can help us get to the next level. We will have a new logo and website, along with an account on X.”
