St. Louis’s Deadly Motordrome (Historical article)

I've read about that place before; crazy. I like the chains that are holding the catch fence in one of the pictures.

I read an article one time that said at some board tracks when the boards would get bad it would make holes through the track. Kids who couldn't afford to buy a ticket would sneak in under the track and watch the action by sticking their heads up through the holes, wow!

I just recently saw a post on Facebook talking about a similar track, the Baltimore-Washington Speedway in Laurel, MD. built in 1925. Only lasted about a year, but apparently Big Bill France raced there. It also referenced the same thing Dave mentioned about kids sticking their heads through.
