Inside Line Promotions - NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. (Aug. 29, 2018) - Trey Starks is returning home for the upcoming World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series shows in his home state of Washington.

Starks will pilot a No. 55 entry for Wheatley Motorsports this Friday and Saturday at Skagit Speedway in Alger during the Outlaw Energy Showdown and next Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma. He will also compete in the Summer Thunder Sprint Series race at Grays Harbor Raceway on Sunday for Doug Rutz.

"It's always fun to race in front of our family and friends at home," he said. "I don't get to do that very often since I race primarily for Gobrecht Motorsports, which is based in the East. Hopefully we will be fast right out of the box each night and we can put some solid performances together. I want to thank Shannon Wheatley and Doug Rutz for the opportunities."

Starks posted a ninth-place result during his most recent World of Outlaws start at Skagit Speedway in 2016 and he advanced from 23rd to 17 th last year during the World of Outlaws show at Grays Harbor Raceway.

Starks is coming off a frustrating weekend that featured a lot of misfortune during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions action in Central Pennsylvania.

The Gobrecht Motorsports driver qualified fifth quickest in his group and placed seventh in a heat race before garnering a fourth-place result in the B Main to earn a transfer into the back of the feature at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., last Thursday. Unfortunately, he was caught up in a crash that kept him from competing the following night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa.

The hectic weekend wrapped up on Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway. Starks qualified second quickest in his group. He then finished sixth in a heat race and second in the B Main before advancing from 22nd to 19 th in the A Main.

"It certainly was not the weekend we anticipated," he said. "It was a struggle from start to finish, but you'll have that in racing from time to time. You can't get too high on the positives or too low on the negatives. You just have to work hard to find consistency and to keep it. That's our focus right now."
