Stewart Wins Queen's Royale at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Oct. 2, 2004) Shane Stewart of Bixby, Ok.became only the seventh winner of the annual Queen's Royale at the St. Francois County Raceway when he drove his #4m sprint car past Timmy Montgomery and into the winner's circle. Montgomery made a charge at Stewart near the end, but Stewart held on for the victory and the $3,500 first place check. Montgomery held on for second place with his younger brother Joey Montgomery (the 2003 Queen's Royale winner) taking third, Jerrod Hull was fourth with Tommy Worley Jr. fifth. They were followed by Korey Weyant, Jimmy Hurley, A.J. Bruns, Terry Babb and Ronnie Standridge.

Jason Hunt won the first heat race with Worley second and Bruns third. Hull won the second heat with Babb second and Dale Campbell third. Hurley won the third heat with Joey Montgomery second and Keith Burch third. Timmy Moss won the fourth heat with Weyant second and Ryan Jamison third. Stewart won the fifth heat race with Timmy Montgomery second and Gary Altig third. Joey Montgomery won the trophy dash with Timmy Montgomery second and Worley third. Bob Thoman won the "C" main with Jeff Davis second and Brian Brown third. Standridge won the "B" main with Daniel Adler second, Steve Short third, Tom Busch fourth and Tyler Thompson fifth.
The Queen's Royal sprint car spectacular started back in 1995 with Kelly Kinser winning the first of his three titles from the race. Danny Lasoski won the title in 1996 with Lee Dunn the winner in 1997, Kinser in 1998, Danny Smith in 2000, Kinser again in 2001, Timmy Montgomery won in 2002 with Joey Montgomery in 2003. The race was rained-out in 1999.

In the 600cc Multi class, Casey Barnhouse of Farmington was the feature winner with Brad Loyet second, Dustin Barks third, Rod Williams fourth and Matt Dotson fifth. They were followed by Jimmy Bridgeman, Tyler Robbins, Tom Owen, Joey Boyd and Jeremy Boyer. Barnhouse won the first heat race with Williams second and Dotson third. Barks won the second heat with Junior Ferguson second and Bridgeman third. Loyet won the third heat with Tommy Boyd second and Zach Barr third.

In the Modified class, Mike Francis of Fredericktown picked up the checkered flag in the feature with Jeremy Greenwalt second, Timmy Hill third, Brad Mashek fourth and John Bohn fifth. They were followed by Brent Thompson, Kasey Burch, Tommy Worley Sr., Jim Fischer and Ryan Gegg. Bohn won the first heat with Burch second and Jack Halbert third. Greenwalt won the second heat with Hill second and Thompson third. Francis won the third heat with Mashek second and Fischer third.

In the Sportsmen class, Matt Eaton of Park Hills was the feature winner with Jeremy Greenwalt second, Brian Worley third, Kasey Nations fourth and Randy Forster fifth. They were followed by Kenny Harris, Billy Mayberry, Leonard Betsch, Derek Shipman and Bill Skaggs. Eaton won the first heat with Forster second and Greenwalt third. Worley won the second heat with Harris second and Nations third.

There is no racing at St. Francois County this Saturday night, the final night of the 2004 racing season will be on Saturday, Oct. 16th with "Cheater Night" for all four classes. Run "whatcha brung."
