ST. LOUIS, MO (July 28th, 2008) – The St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club was founded in 1955 to help racing achieve its rightful place among other sports. The club embraces all types of racing, regardless of track, sanction, or association and membership is OPEN to anyone over the age of 16. The St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club is officially chartered as a non-profit organization and is a member of the National Association of Auto Racing Fan Clubs. Club activities vary from monthly meetings (during the winter), Fan Club night at various race tracks, special events such as "Oldtimers Get Togethers" and is highlighted by the Banquet of Champions celebrating all area track champions in January.
Now the club is very happy to launch their brand new club website www.STLFanClub.com. This website is very different from their website of yesterday. Now both new members and old can make use of the website using the all new membership page. The club was looking for an easier way for interested fans to become new members and submit renewals. They came up with a solution; the club website now has a form which allows visitors to sign up right from the comfort of their PC. When the form is submitted they have an option to pay the simple $20 membership fee online via credit card or pay by check. It’s just one more example of the club taking care of its members.
Another new feature to the website is the online store. The club store has many items for all fans not just members to enjoy. Starting off with 2 dvd’s. The first contains approximately 400 photos taken at Lake Hill Speedway between 1945 and 1981. This includes Wallace’s, Schrader’s, midgets, coups, street stocks, and officials. The second is actual racing footage copied from old 8mm film taken by families of Lake Hill racers including some from the Wallace family. This is footage from the days on dirt to the days on pavement. It ends up with about 3-4 minutes of Kenny and Russ Wallace at the Reunion. Finally, the club has Lake Hill Speedway t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies.
