TAMPA, FL – Crate Racin’ USA has announced the formation of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for Crate Engine Dirt Late Models. Crate Racin’ USA Series Director Mike Vaughn made the announcement today along with Crate Racin’ USA President Roby Helm, and StormPay.com Chief Executive Officer Steve Girsky, and StormPay.com President John McConnell.

The goal of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series is to provide weekly dirt tracks across the country with a consistent point fund and rules package, along with event, marketing, media, and advertising support for their Crate-Engine Late Model Divisions.

The drivers in the StormPay.com Late Model Division at each weekly track can compete for not only track points and a point fund, but also for points and a points fund on the Regional, and National levels. Series officials said each track will receive a minimum of $4,000 for their point fund, with $5,000 ear marked for each Regional Champion, and $15,000 going to the National Champion.

“Dirt tracks across the country have attempted to create a more economical late model division to offset the cost of the their super late model division with high-dollar engines,” Helm said. “They have called these divisions everything from Limited Late Models, to Sportsman, to Super Street.”

Helm said there has been a lot of interest in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series from tracks in the Southeast and Midwest. StormPay.com Dirt Late Model officials have projected at least three to four Regions across the country, with six to eight tracks in each Region.

“Now there is an opportunity through the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series to utilize $2,800 to $4,800 factory-sealed crate engines to create an economical late model division, and the drivers can compete with other drivers nationwide through the points system,” Helm said. “The tracks will also benefit through our support package from series officials, and StormPay.com.”

Vaughn and Helm announced that Dennis Anton will be the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Director, and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and points.

“I learned very quickly in my association with Crate Racin’ USA that Mike Vaughn and I think alike,” Helm said. “When Mike first mentioned the weekly program to me a couple of months ago, I knew we needed Dennis Anton to oversee it, and when I mentioned it to Mike, he said he already hired him. Having worked with Dennis in the past at the United Dirt Track Racing Association, I know he has strong organizational skills.”

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series will encompass a 24-week season from April 14 through October 15. Each driver will utilize their top 16 finishes to earn points on the Regional level. At the end of the season, the Regional Champions will compete in a Special Dash at the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series World Championship Race in Tampa, FL to determine the National Champion.

Crate Racin’ USA will provide the weekly tracks with technical, P.R., and Promotional assistance for their weekly StormPay.com Late Model Divisions. StormPay.com will also support the tracks’ marketing efforts.

The series will put on a seminar at each track at the beginning of the season to cover all of these areas. The series will also make technical, operational, PR, and advertising materials available to each member track.

Weekly member tracks will also receive a discounted sanction fee for StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National events, which will also serve as “double point” events on the weekly and Zone levels. The weekly track hosting the national event will receive an exclusive night, as the other tracks in that Zone will give their StormPay.com Late Models the night off to compete in the national event.
