CLARKSVILLE, TN – StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials have announced that Jody Howard has been named as the Series Technical Director, and will oversee all technical duties involving both the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model National Series, and the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series.

Howard has been involved in racing since the age of 14, and has been an engine builder since 1999 with Howard’s Motorsports in Rogersville, AL. Howard has past experience in working on the GM Performance Crate Engines used by the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series.

“I am very impressed with Jody Howard and I feel he is going to be an asset in the growth of the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series,” StormPay.com Dirt Late Model series President of Operations and Communications Roby Helm said. “Jody is a straight talker, looks at things in black and white, and I think he will do a good job in keeping the credibility and integrity of the series.”

Howard is ready for the task at hand with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series, which includes reviewing regional candidates to serve as the Series’ Crate Engine Rebuilders.

“I think crate engines are where dirt late model racing needs to be going,” Howard said. “In order to keep this program successful, we’re going to have to stay on top of teching these engines to make sure they haven’t been tampered with. Cheating these engines means spending money, and that will damage the series and what it’s all about.”

The first order of business for Howard will be working with the technical directors of the tracks involved with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, which will begin its points season on March 31.

Any technical questions regarding the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model National Touring Series, and the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series should be directed towards Howard at 256-247-5590.
