Stormpay.com Dirt Late Model Series To Compete In Columbus Speedway 6th Annual Winter

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series will travel to Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS on Saturday afternoon, January 21 for the 6th Annual Winter Classic. The StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series will make its first-ever visit to Mississippi for the 40-lap $2,000-to-win main event, round number two of the 2006 National Championship season.

The StormPay.com Dirt Late Models are powered by economical factory-built and sealed engines. A steel-head engine costs $2,800 and an aluminum-head engine costs $4,800, or one-tenth the cost of an unlimited dirt late model engine. Competitors can take these engines right out of the crate and put them any dirt late model chassis.

Mix good mix of weekly competitors and seasoned veterans make up the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series driver roster. The defending StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Denny Slayton of Rossville, GA spent many years as a “weekend warrior” before winning last year’s title when the series was known as Crate Racin’ USA.

Among the veterans competing with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model series expected at Columbus Speedway for the Winter Classic include National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Jeff Purvis of Clarksville, TN, Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN, and Mike Head of Ellenwood, GA.
