CLARKSVILLE, TN – The StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series had added an event to its 2006 National Touring schedule with a $2,500-to-win race at Crossville Raceway in Crossville, TN on Friday night, September 29. Crossville Raceway has recently undergone an ownership change with personnel close to the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series.

The new ownership group at Crossville Raceway includes StormPay.com CEO Steve Girsky, StormPay.com President John McConnell, and Al Varnadore, part of the ownership group at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL.

The StormPay.com Dirt Model Series also competes at East Bay Raceway Park which will host the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series National Championship Race on Thursday night, December 14, and the $10,000-to-win 2nd Annual StormPay.com Crate Racin’ USA World Championship Race on Friday and Saturday nights, December 15-16.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to bring the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour to Crossville Raceway on Friday night September 29,” StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series President of Operations and Communications Roby Helm said. “Crossville Raceway is already one of the nicest racing facilities in the country, and under the leadership of Steve Girsky, John McConnell, and Al Varnadore, I know the track will only get better.”

The StormPay.com DLMS will compete in Qualifications, the StormPay.com Lightning Quick 6 Dash, B-mains, and a 40-lap $2,500-to-win main event on the 1/3-mile high-banked clay oval.

Crossville Raceway is located on top of the Cumberland Plateau, between East and Middle Tennessee. The talent pool in both parts of the state is plentiful.

“This is going to be a race that will highlight some of the best dirt late model drivers in the Southeast,” Helm said. “Out of the 14 National events we have run this season, 12 of them have been won by Tennessee drivers. Middle Tennessee has been led by point leader David Gentry of Lewisburg, who has six wins this season. East Tennessee has been well represented by Shannon Buckingham of Morristown, who is second in National points with three wins, and Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga with three wins. Jimmy Owens of Newport is the defending StormPay.com World Championship Race winner.”

Middle Tennessee will also be represented at Crossville Raceway by StormPay.com Dirt Late Model regulars Carnell Parker III of Clarksville, and Ryan Gifford of Winchester.

Drivers from the Peach State will be led by Jeff Smith of Villanow, GA, Jeff Fields of Aragon, GA, Zach Nichols of Cedartown, GA, Frankie Beard of Hartwell, GA, Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA, and Jordy Nipper of Gray, GA. Alabama will send Robert Gant of Flat Rock in the Bullet Performance Engines Ford-powered R&D Test Car.

On Friday night, September 29, the Crossville Raceway gates will open at 4:30 p.m., with the drivers meeting at 6 p.m., and hot laps scheduled for 6:30 p.m. For more information about Crossville Raceway call 931-456-5000, or visit the track web site at www.crossvilleracewayusa.com.
