StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Round Up For April 24

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Herman Reynolds and Adam Martin are the regional leaders in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series after week number four of the 24-week season for the Crate Late Models. Drivers will earn points at their respective weekly tracks for 24 weeks, with the best 16 finishes counting towards their regional point totals.

Reynolds picked up his fourth straight win on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS in the West Region, and Martin followed up his first ever late model win on April 15 with a third-place effort on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in the East Region.

Reynolds has accumulated 160 points to hold a one-point lead in the West Region over Tony Albright, who took his third straight win on Saturday night at StormPay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN. Talbert Goldman, who competes at Pike County Speedway and Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS, is in the third spot in the West Region with 155 points.

Jarrette Gunn is fourth in the West Region with 151 points accumulated at Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS and Pike County Speedway. Landon Frith from Swinging Bridge Raceway and Pike County Speedway is tied for the fifth spot with Kevin Watts from Pike County Speedway, each with 150 points. Jeff Danos from Pike County Speedway is in the seventh spot with 138 points.

Doug Todd took the win on Saturday night at Swinging Bridge Raceway to move up to the eighth position with 118 points, and Davin Bates from Pike County Speedway is ninth with 117 points. Steven Ashby from StormPay.com Speedway is tied for the tenth spot with Mike Shirley from Columbus Speedway, each with 114 points.

Rodney Weaver earned his first East Region StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series points of the season with a win on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Mother Nature picked up a pair of East Region wins over the weekend, raining out Malden Speedway in Malden, MO and Camden Speedway in Camden, TN on Friday night. Columbus Speedway was off on Saturday night, and Whynot Raceway Park in Meridian, MS will open on May 6.

Martin leads the East Region with 142 points, and holds a 12-point lead over Jason Wilson, who won the Crate Late Model feature on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track. With three races in the books, Talladega Short Track drivers hold down the top 11 spots in the East Region.

Steve Kirk is third with 112 points, and John Pierce is fourth with 106 points. Richard Ogle, David Kelley, and Jimmy Elkins are tied for the fifth spot with 94 points, and Jonathan Chapman is eighth with 92 points. Logan Yates, Chris Turley, and Brett Roberts are tied for the ninth spot with 90 points.

Zach Nichols moved closer to the top ten in the East Region points with his second straight win on Saturday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL.

Mother Nature has a hold on the competition at Willard Speedway in Willard, KY, who was rained out for the third straight week. Willard Speedway will try again this Saturday night with double features on the schedule.

Modoc Speedway in Modoc, SC and I-77 Speedway in Chester, SC were off on Saturday night. East Region drivers will get a chance to double-dip this weekend, as Modoc Speedway will host a special Friday night event, and I-77 Speedway will present a special $2,500-to-win StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series event this Saturday night. Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL is scheduled to open on May 5.

After the fourth week, 128 different drivers have earned StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series points. Drivers are not only competing for their respective track point fund money, but also StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Regional point fund money.

The top two point drivers at each StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series track will be eligible to compete for the National point fund money at the StormPay.com Weekly Racing National Championship Race at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL on December 15.

The track champions at each StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Track will also be eligible to win a GM Performance 604 Crate Engine through a special drawing at the National Championship Race.
