Atlanta, GA - An impressive group of at least 20 confirmed Parts Plus USCS
Asphalt Thunder Tour winged sprint car pre-entries are coming to Watermelon
Capital Speedway for Saturday's (3/28/09) Spring Speed Spectacular. Several
other drivers are expected to enter before Saturday at race time. The
biggest challenge may be Mother Nature on Saturday evening. USCS Founder and
President Pete Walton reports that if the paved track season-opener is
rained out on Saturday evening the race is scheduled to run Sunday afternoon
at 2:00pm.
The Saturday schedule is for the pits to open at 1:00pm with practice at
3:00pm and racing at 7:00pm. If the schedule switches to Sunday the times
are as follows: Pits open 11:00am with racing at 2:00pm. Also on the racing
card are the Watermelon Capital Speedway Super Street, Pure Stock, Mini
Stock and Claimer divisions.
Watermelon Capital Speedway is located three miles North of Cordele, Georgia
