BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (July 16, 2005) Fourteen-year-old William Sutton of Des Arc started the 2005 racing season off in style with some big wins and strong finishes. Lately the wins have not come so easily for the youngster, but Saturday night Sutton appeared to be back in form after winning first place in the Competition Eliminator class. However his night was dampened when Brad Lunn of Pacific (who had finished in second place) defeated him in the top eliminator race.
In the Open 4x4 class, Terry Wies of Wentzville was the top eliminator and first place winner with Gary Eckhoff of Cadet taking second place.
In Vehicle ET, Gladys Edwards of Bonne Terre was the first place winner with second place winner Philip Beaird of St. Louis taking second place and top eliminator.
In Stock Buggy, Vernon Henson Jr. was the top eliminator and first place winner with Vernon Henson Sr. taking second place.
In Junior ATV, Whitney Dee of Leadwood was the first place winner with second place winner Thad Farris of Potosi taking the top eliminator race.
In ATV-1, Eric "The Real" McCoy of Potosi was the first place winner with second place winner Lauren Banks taking the top eliminator race.
In Pro ATV, Kevin Betzer Sr. was the top eliminator and first place winner with Randy Hayes of Pilot Knob taking second place.
In Super Pro ATV, Christopher Sauer of Festus captured first place, but it was second place winner Jeff Griffin of Festus winning the top eliminator race.
