Swindell Set For Usac Turkey Night Grand Prix

Center Line, Mich. - Kevin Swindell, son of World of Outlaws star Sammy Swindell, has been named to drive the No. 20s entry for Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises in the 65th Annual Turkey Night Grand Prix. Swindell will act as a teammate to 2005 USAC National Midget Series Champion Josh Wise. Both entries will utilize Gary Stanton-built Mopar powerplants.

"I am very happy to get a chance to drive for Tony Stewart's team," said Swindell. "I look forward to the opportunity to race with them and I know we will have a great run."

Swindell has competed in several racing series during the 2005 season. In addition to competing in the World of Outlaws Sprint Series, Swindell has also gained seat time in the USCS, USAC and USCS Asphalt Thunder Series. The 16-year-old gained five wins in 10 starts with the USCS Series, as well as eight pole position awards. He also set three new track records in USCS competition.

Practice for the 65th Annual Turkey Night Grand Prix will begin at 3 p.m. PST on Wednesday, November 23. The pit gate will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 24, with qualifications beginning at 4 p.m. PST. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. PST. The 100-lap main event featuring the USAC National Midget Car Series will conclude the 2005 season for the series.
