Inside Line Promotions - HIGHLANDS, Texas (Aug. 28, 2018) - Channin Tankersley is riding a career-best four-race winning streak as he enters an ASCS Gulf South Region doubleheader this weekend.

The Old School Racing driver has a 90-point lead in the championship standings heading into races this Saturday and Sunday at South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, Texas. This weekend will mark his first time competing at the track since May 2013.

"I went there in like 2007 or 2008 and I won there once in 2012," he said. "I've got a few top fives. It's one of my better tracks.

"I remember it's pretty fast and slick. It's like smaller to midsize. From what I can remember it was pretty wide."

In May 2012 Tankersley won both a heat race and the main event at the oval. He will take confidence from not only that win, but his recent success as well. Tankersley has five wins and seven top fives in eight ASCS Gulf South Region events this season.

"This year has been so relaxing," he said. "It's been so nice. We go out there and race and have a good time. It doesn't hurt that we've won a lot, too."
