Star, Mississippi (03/28/12) – Team Country Pleasin', based in Star, Mississippi, has announced their 2012 plans, which will include Henry Cooper Jr. behind the wheel of his familiar #14 Cooper's Country Meat Packers/Warrior/Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model and will also include the addition of Open Wheel Modified standout, Hunter Rasdon, to the team in the #r5 Cooper's Country Meat Packers/Warrior/Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model.

For the 39-year-old Cooper the expansion is not only something that he has wanted to do, but it's something that lays the foundation for his racing future. He comments, "It's no secret that I've been battling health issues over the past several years, and the doctors would really like me to not race anymore. I've decided I want to race one more year, and then I would like to move into the role of a team owner to stay involved in this sport. I've kept tabs on Hunter for a few years now, and I've heard nothing but good things about him, and I'm always seeing his name in the winner's column. After meeting with him, he has a great attitude and seems like a perfect fit for the team. We are going to take this season and race around Mississippi entering regional shows and a few of the area national events to get Hunter some experience and seat time in the Super Late Model. Hopefully in 2013 we can start to branch out to a more national schedule if all goes as planned."
For the 25-year-old Rasdon, the chance to drive for Team Country Pleasin' is a once in a lifetime chance. Rasdon comments, "This entire opportunity is a dream come true for me. Words can't describe how excited I am to be piloting a Super Late Model. Henry and everyone with Team Country Pleasin' are providing me with top-notch equipment, and while I want to give the team solid performances and wins, we all understand that I'm new to the Super Late Model division, and it's going to take some seat time. No matter what, I'm eternally grateful to Henry for this unbelievable opportunity!"
When not competing in the Super Late Model Hunter will still field his own #r5 Mastersbilt/Jay Dickens Open Wheel Modified in various high-profile events.
This Friday night both drivers are planning to enter the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi). The $10,000-to-win event marks the first appearance ever by the tour at the 1/4 mile oval as many of the nation's top drivers will be rolling into town.
