The "Unofficial" Entry List for The Wild West Shootout

(January 6th, 2011) - The who's who of dirt Late Model and Modified racing are making their way to Tucson's USA Raceway for a spectacular six days of racing that kicks off this Saturday afternoon. With more than 60 Super Late Models expected, the racing action will be no less than amazing.

Tickets are on sale now and the discounted six day passes are going fast. The six day pass will allow race fans to catch all of the fast action at an unbelievable price of only $11.50 per event while tickets to the VIP seating are on $16.50.

The VIP bar sits above the grandstands and is fully enclosed and fully serviced. Surrounded by glass, it is the best seat in the house and race fans can enjoy the races in style without ever leaving their seat. VIP Seating is open for everyone at a very low cost.

The Wild West Shootout which takes place on the second weekend of January and commences the following weekend enters it 5th year and is anticipated to be one of the largest racing events of 2011. The best of the best in Super Late Models and Modifieds will tackle USA Raceway's 3/8-mile clay oval for six days on January 8, 9, 12, 14, 15 and 16, with more than $150,000 in prize money to be distributed over the course of the blockbuster event. A $10,000 top prize awaits the shootout event finale, The Bill Cheesbourg Memorial, on January 16.

Weekday Shows (Jan. 12th & 14th) - Gates open at 4pm with Racing at 7pm

Weekend Shows (Jan. 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th) - Gates open at 10am with Racing at 1pm

Test 'N Tune session on Friday January 7th from 6-9 pm



Parking: RV parking will be available Monday January 3rd. Pit Parking will begin Wednesday January 5th

Event Format: Heat races with passing/finishing points to determine feature lineups.

Jimmy Mars and Billy Moyer went head to head in the 2010 Wild West Shootout with Moyer winning three of the six events while Mars picked up the opening round and the $10k Bill Cheesbourg Finale. Terry Phillips, defending and only 2-Time Wes Hurst Memorial Champion, also picked up a mid week win with a last lap pass making for his 9th win of the 5 year event.


More than 100 of the top cars and drivers from around the US and Canada will take to the track over the nine day event that begins on Saturday January 9th with the $3k to win Wild West Shootout opener and will conclude with the $10k to win Wild West Shootout "Bill Cheesbourg Memorial".
