Tim, who is in his 30th year of racing, pilots the #1k McCarthy Auto Group/Hamilton Service Company/Skyrocket/Dennis Millert Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified and has over 200 career wins. In 2010 Karrick has one win on the season and is focusing on the track championship at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. However, he may compete in some other events at other tracks later in the year.
Tim gained national recognition earlier this year as one of the featured drivers on the television show, Heartland Thunder, on the Discovery Channel. The program focused on the strong weekly competition at Lakeside Speedway. After having the first two shows aired, the remainder of the episodes was originally canceled from airing, but have since been reinstated and an airtime will soon be announced.
On Friday night, July 23rd Tim was back in action at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. Thirty-two Open Wheel Modifieds entered the event, and Karrick started the night by charging from the sixth starting spot in his heat race to take the win. Via his heat race performance, he started tenth in the feature event. During the course of the feature, he would advance through the pack to a fourth place finish behind event winner, Cody Agler, Jason Bodenhamer, and John O'Neal Jr.
With his performance on Friday night, Tim moved into the point's lead in the Open Wheel Modified division at Lakeside Speedway with a three point advantage over Tom Charles.
