FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (July 12, 2003) Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown was able to make a late pass of his younger brother Joey Montgomery during the 25-lap sprint car feature Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway to pick up the checkered flag and pick up the first place check.
Joey settled for second place with Jerrod Hull (who had won the two previous sprint features at SFCR) placed third with Lowe Cannell was fourth with Jeff Davis fifth. They were followed by Lee Dunn, Bob Thoman, Greg Burns, Jason Keith and Jason Hunt.
Joey Montgomery won the first heat with Davis second and John Epperson third. Timmy Montgomery won the second heat with Dunn second and Evans third. Rod Crabdree won the third heat with Hunt second and Thoman third. Davis won the dash with Joey Montgomery second and Timmy Montgomery third.
Timmy Montgomery now leads the points at SFCR with 544, Joey Montgomery is second with 450, Thoman is third with 394, Keith is fourth with 374 and Tommy Worley Jr. is fifth with 354. Hull moved into sixth place in the points with 322.
In the Hobby Stock class, Jeremy Greenwalt of Caledonia put together a tremendous effort to sail away with the victory in the feature. Kasey Nations finished in second place with Randy Forster third, Chuck Adams fourth and Matt Eaton fifth. They were followed by Kevin Mosier, Mark Howell, Nathan Gibson, Billy Craig, and Charles Adams.
Howell won the first heat race with Nations second and Forster third. Doug Savage won the second heat with Greenwalt second and Pete Koenig third.
Greenwalt now leads the Hobby Stock class in points with 544. He is followed in the standings by Forster (530), Chuck Adams (516), Nations (510), Eaton (462), Chris Boyd (432), Mosier (382), Gibson (244), Billy Mayberry (232), Jim Abshier (200) and Charles Adams (200).
In the Modified class, Timmy Hill held off the charge of Jeff LeBaube to pick up the victory in the feature. Billy “the Kid” Smith finished third with Lannie Blake fourth and Kenny Kennedy fifth. They were followed by Dennis Pickard, Shane Moody, Dr. Chris Sloan, Dan Zander and Lou Driemier.
Blake won the first heat with Pickard second and Moody third. Hill won the second heat with Driemier second and Jim Brayton third. LeBaube won heat three with Smith second and Kevin Hulsey third. Kennedy won the “B” main with Mike Crader second.
Kennedy now leads the Modified class in points with 480 followed by LeBaube (438), Smith (436), Crader (426), Hill (380), Zander (336), Sloan (336), Pete Koenig (320), Driemier (280) and Matt Zimmerly (276).
In the 600cc Multi class, Jeremy Boyer celebrated a big win as he was able to hold off Kent Buckley for the victory in the feature. Junior Ferguson settled for third place with Tommy Boyd fourth and Curt Henderson fifth. They were followed by Casey Barnhouse, Jimmy Bridgeman, Brandon Nixon, Matt Dotson and Brian Keen.
Boyer won the first heat race with Chuck Fenwick second and David Fromann third. Brad Loyet won the second heat with Blake Buchholtz second and Joey Boyd third. Ferguson won the third heat with McKinney second and Buckley third.
Barnhouse continues to lead the 600cc Multi class in points with 532 followed by Ferguson (460), Dustin Barks (376), Buckley (368), Boyer (364), Tommy Boyd (364), Dotson (362), Joey Boyd (348), Bridgeman (336)and Josh Kennedy (330).
