Timmy Montgomery wins Missouri/Illinois Challenge at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 14, 2003) Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown picked up the checkered flag and the $2,000 first place check Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway for winning the final leg of the Missouri/Illinois Challenge.
The previous three legs (at I-55, Godfrey and Jacksonville) were all rained out.

Terry Babb captured second place in the feature with Jason Keith taking third, Jimmy Moughan fourth and Jim Hurley fifth. They were followed by Kurt Trainer, Steve Short, Jason Hunt, Jerrod Hull and Rod Crabdree.

Keith won the first heat with Timmy Moss second and Hunt third. Trainer won the second heat. Babb won heat three with Timmy Montgomery second and Crabdree third. Short won the fourth heat with Hurley second and Lee Dunn third. Joey Montgomery won the "B" main with Ronnie Standridge second and Hull third. Timmy Montgomery won the dash with Babb second and Hurley third.

In the Hobby Stock class, Chris Boyd of Park Hills was the feature winner with Matt Eaton second, Jeremy Greenwalt third, Nathan Gibson fourth and Randy Forster fifth. They were followed by Billy Mayberry, Kevin Mosier, Leonard Betsch and Brad McKinnon.
Chuck Adams won the first heat race with Boyd second and Greenwalt third. Kasey Nations won the second heat with Eaton second and Mayberry third.

In the Modified class, Kenny Kennedy of Fredericktown was the feature winner with Jeff LeBaube taking second, Mike Crader third, Billy "the Kid" Smith fourth and Tommy Worley Sr. fifth. They were followed by Billy Ames, Tim Radford, Dan Zander, Pete Koenig and Matt Zimmerly.

Kennedy won the first heat with Crader second and Ames third. Tim Hill won the second heat with Worley second and Koenig third. LeBaube won heat three with Smith second and Joe Giesler third.

In the 600cc Multi class, Lance McKinney captured the feature win by holding off the challenge of Kent Buckley. Buckley settled for second with third going to Casey Barnhouse, fourth to Junior Ferguson and fifth to Josh Statler. They were followed by Travis Hickey, Brad Loyet, Ryan Jones, Josh Kennedy, and Andy Moss.
Barnhouse won the first heat with Buckley second and Matt Dotson third. McKinney won the second heat with Hickey second and Moss third. Ferguson won the third heat with Joey Boyd second and Jones third.

Kennedy

:p It's really no big deal, but Kenny Kennedy is not from Fredericktown. He lives in Farmington. So far this year, every time his name has appeared in the Driver's Seat, he has been from Fred'town. I just thought I would let you know. I'm sure Kenny would appreciate it.

Also, congratulations to Kenny on his 2nd feature win of the season.
