Center Line, Mich. — Mopar and Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises have seen some new faces for the 2006 season, but as the team enters this year’s USAC “Border Wars XII” events, the desire to win remains the same. Drivers Josh Wise, Levi Jones and Kyle Nicholas aim to bring Mopar’s third straight USAC “Border Wars” title back to the TSRE Indianapolis, Ind., based shop.

Wise and the No. 20 TSRE team will have another mission this weekend as well. Leading his teammate Jones by only one point in the USAC National Sprint Car Series championship chase, Wise will attempt to widen that margin. The defending 2005 USAC National Midget Car Series champion will also look to find his way into victory lane for the first time this season.

The No. 21 Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises team, on the other hand, has found victory lane already this year and is determined to get back there this weekend. Jones was dominant on the big tracks last season, and the No. 21 team will try to find their groove at Eldora Speedway in Ohio on Saturday night. Jones, the 2005 USAC National Sprint Car Series champion, found victory lane at the facility one time last season, winning the USAC 4-Crown Nationals Sprint Series event.

Nicholas and the No. 29 team will make their second USAC National Sprint Car Series on the dirt at Gas City I-69 Speedway in Indiana on Friday night. The rookie driver is focused on gaining valuable seat time over the course of the season.

The entire Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises team took advantage of the open test and tune date at Gas City I-69 Speedway in early April. The TSRE machines that Wise, Jones and Nicholas pilot utilize Maxim chassis. Engine builder Gary Stanton provides the team’s Mopar power.
