Tri-City Speedway Awards Celebration Honors NASCAR WRS presented by Dodge Champions

Granite City, IL – Five NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge track champions were honored and several more drivers were presented with special awards during Tri-City Speedway’s Annual Award Celebration.

Bert Cheatham was presented the Late Model Feature Division Champion’s trophy for winning the track championship and finishing sixth in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge Heartland Region. Cheatham’s year-end point fund total from NASCAR was $8,000.

Terry Chester was presented the ShorTrack Series Sportsman trophy for his first career Championship. Rick Huebner was honored as the Street Stock Champion, Joe Dresch as the Modified Champion and Brian Garrett the Hornet Champion.

The True Value Mechanic of the Year Award went to Todd Saterwaite, crew chief on terry James’ Late Model. Tom Seets won the Lincoln Electric Sportsman of the Year Award and was presented with a Lincoln Electric welder.

Special Achievement Awards were presented to Late Model driver Pat Ryan, ShorTrack Series Sportsman driver Bubb Mitchell, Modified driver Steve Meyer, Jr. and Street Stock driver Troy Tusing for their dedication and commitment to auto racing.

Rookie of the Year awards were presented to Keith Flannery in the Late Model Feature Division, Kyle Strain in the ShorTrack Series Sportsman division, Rick Huebner in the Modifieds and Billy Liebe in the Street Stock division.
