Triple Header at Moberly, Sedalia, and Springfield this Weekend for MLRA Late Model Series!

Buckner, MO (June 21st, 2010) - After a short three week layoff following the DART Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway, the Stars and Cars of the Lucas Oil MLRA hit the road this weekend for a grueling three night swing. The weekend gets underway with a stop on Thursday night, June 24th at the 24 Raceway in Moberly, Missouri followed by visits to the Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia on Friday night and the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri this Saturday, June 26th.

Republic, Missouri's Brad Looney finds himself in a somewhat unfamiliar but well deserved position atop the Lucas Oil MLRA Points Standings with a four point lead over 6-Time and Defending MLRA Champion Al Purkey from Coffeyville, Kansas. Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich sits in the third spot only 26 points behind the leader Looney. Fellow Iowa pilot, Chad Simpson occupies the fourth spot with Springfield, Missouri Veteran Terry Phillips sitting solidly in fifth. Omaha, Nebraska's John Anderson holds down the sixth spot with fellow Cornhusker and Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Joe Kosiski clinging to seventh in the season long points battle. Arizona native and Springfield, Missouri resident Jeremy Payne will be in action this weekend as he hopes to climb up the standings from eighth while Massena, Iowa's Chris Spieker and Omaha, Nebraska's Bill Koons round out the Top-10. The action gets underway at 24 Raceway in Moberly, Missouri on Thursday, June 24th with Hot Laps at 6:15 and racing set to start promptly at 7:30. The Pit and Grandstand gates open at 4:00pm. Adult Tickets are just $15 with Pit Pass Pricing set at $30. Kids 12 and under are admitted FREE to the 24 Raceway. A full fendered field of Hobby Stocks and Sportsman cars will accompany the high powered Late Models for a full evening of racing action. Gates open at Sedalia's historic Missouri State Fair Speedway this Friday night, June 25th at 5pm with hot laps set to begin at 7:30, and racing slated to start at 8:00. The event will feature a head to head showdown with the MARS Late Models. General admission is $18 with Seniors and Military pricing set at $15. Kids (6-12) are $9 while kids 5 and under are FREE. Pit pass pricing is set at $30. The State Fair Speedway Street Stocks will also take to the big 1/2 mile as they accompany the MLRA Super Late Models. The John Kuntz Memorial anchors the final night of the three day swing on Saturday, June 26th as the Lucas Oil MLRA once again battles the MARS Late Models in head to head action for the first time ever at the venerable Springfield, Missouri oval. John Kuntz is the founder of Andy's Frozen Custard and a long time supporter of racing in the area as well as the primary sponsor of Terry Phillips Racing. Grandstand Gates are scheduled to Open at 5:00 with the Pit Gate Open time set at 4:00pm. Hot Laps get underway at 6:15 with Racing starting at 7pm.
