(October 7, 2011) Topeka, KS - On the 2nd night of the Capital City Clash at Heartland Park Topeka, the excitement went out at a fever pitch. Several modifieds showed back up for night 2, and they were ready to do whatever it would take to get to the front of the field.

Forty three modifieds signed in for competiition. Last night's A Main did not yield a single caution. Many fans, drivers and more wanted to know just how good of a show the drivers were going to put on for the fans on the second night? The answer was another great night.

Eric Turner started the evening by not coming out for hot laps. The ace from Hermitage, Mo. didn't need to warm up. He felt that he had his car dialed in and went straight to the heat race.

The first heat could have been indicitave of how the night might go. Turner would work his way to the front of the field in the heat and take the win. In getting the win, he garnered more passing points than any other driver. It was a dubious distinction that would put him on the pole for the A Main.

Turner's task from the top spot in the A Main would be anything but easy. Mark Dotson, the winner from night 1, Darron Fuqua, the local track champ, and John Allen were just a few of the drivers starting next to Turner.

When flagman, Herschel Thompson waved the green at the start of the BSB Mfg Midwest Outlaw Modifieds by Lucas Oil MLRA, began just as night 1 had ended, with Mark Dotson out in front. Turner would keep pace and at the right moment would pounce for the lead.

Dotson entered lapped traffic and it didn't take long before it held him up pretty good. It would be the opportunity that Turner would need to run past Dotson.
Once into the lead Turner would not look back on the way to victory.

Dotson held on for a strong 2nd place finish, after winning night number 1, John Allen rebounded from a sub-par performance to finish 3rd, it was another top 5 finish for the 4th place driver, Chase Junghans and rounding out the top 5 was Steven Bowers Jr.

The Capital City Clash closed down the dirt track racing season for 2011. Many fans and drivers wanted to thank the Lucas Oil MLRA for putting on this show under less than ideal circumstances.
