Vintage cars return to Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(June 15, 2007) The Vintage Cars made their monthly appearance at the Raceway this past Friday evening with 10 cars in attendance.

Dean Adams Jr. started the main event from the 4th row, working his way through traffic until he achieved the goal he set for himself, cross the line first and carry the checkered flag. Brian Wolfmeier finished second behind Adams, George McClintock third, Butch Graham fourth and Chad McClintock fifth.

Graham won the first heat, Randy Horton Jr. second and C. McClintock third. Tim Van Eck carried the checkers in the second heat, G. McClintock second and Brian Wolfmeier third.

In the Mini Stock class, Casey Barnhouse was a two time winner, carrying the flag in both the heat race and the main event. Shannon Burch finished second to Barnhouse in the A-Main, Ronnie Moser third, Megan Bell fourth and Denver Counts fifth. Moser was second to Barnhouse in the heat race, Burch third.

The O' Reilly Poweri Micro Division had 9 entries and a two time winner in Mark Shirshekan. Shirshekan was followed in the main by Jake Bess in second, Lynda Blanke in third, Brian Keen in fourth and HRE Racing in fifth. Bess was also second to Shirshekan in the heat, HRE third.

Scottie Gretzmacher picked up another win in the Stock Kart Class followed by Jesse Wright, Andrew Cash, Corey Wolfmeier, Lee Stuppy and Carson Heady. The heat race was won by Gretzmacher as well with Wright and Cash rounding out the top three.

Dustin Adams drove to two victories in the 305 Sprint division. Howard Worrell and Kermit Schrum finished 2-3 behind Adams in both events.

Matt Greif and Joey Gilliam traded victories in the Hornet class. Greif won the feature event with Gilliam second. Gilliam carried the flag in the heat race followed by Greif.

Racing will resume Friday, June 22 with the O'Reilly Poweri Micros, Mini Stock, Stock Karts, Hornets and 305 Sprints. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., practice begins at 7:30 p.m., racing begins at 8:00 p.m . For more information, log onto www.doerunraceway.com or phone (573) 756-8889.
