Weekend doubleheader next for Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. (May 26) – With rainouts to show for the last three tour dates, forecasts are much better for the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series weekend doubleheader at Kopellah Speedway and Arlington Raceway.
The series is at St. Croix Falls, Wis., for opening night Friday, May 28 and at Arlington, Minn., Raceway on Saturday, May 29.
Each feature pays $700 to win. GRP Motorsports kicks in $200 bonuses for both the highest finishing UMSS regular and the IMCA regular in the Saturday show.
Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5 p.m., hot laps follow the 6:15 p.m. drivers’ meeting and racing starts at 7 p.m. at Kopellah
Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for fans 55 and older, $5 for students ages 13-19, and 12 and under get in free.

Gates open at 3 p.m., go-kart heats start at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. at Arlington. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. IMCA points will also be awarded in the Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Mach-1 Sport Compact divisions.
Admission to the grandstand is $12 for adults and $5 for kids, with five and under getting in free.

Pit passes are $25 at both Kopellah and at Arlington.
Kopellah hosts the first night in another tour twinbill, when GRP helps make the winner’s share of the Friday, June 4 purse $1,000. The Earl Kouba Memorial at North Central Speedway in Brainerd, Minn., bookends the doubleheader on Saturday, June 5 and pays $1,500 to win.
The only series event in the record book so far is the April 23 show at Kopellah, won by Dave Becker.
