It was a very cool July night at the Quad City Raceway, as 84 cars checked into the pits to do battle. It was a very exciting night as some familiar faces visited the winners circle. Including one driver who finally won and now gets to cut his hair. In the Street Stock division, Matt Werner has been letting his hair grow until he won a feature event. Well he finally gets to shed his wool, as he captured the Street Stock 15 lap feature event. Gerald Ward had lead the whole race till lap 13, as Matt Werner got a run on the bottom of turn four and made the pass to take the lead, and led the final lap to capture the win. Ward would still wind up second and Chris Hambright was third. In the heat races, Clint Morehouse and Werner were victorious.

In the UMP Modifieds, UMP National point leader, Gary Cook Jr. Captured his 4th victory of the season in 5 starts. The 9th starting Cook Jr. Worked his way thru the traffic, and finally got by early race leader Milo Veloz Jr. On lap 12 and went on to the claim the 20 lap feature. Veloz Jr would wind up 2nd, and Morris Illinois driver Vince Cooper was 3rd. Heat race were won by Vince Cooper, Jason Bahrs, and Milo Veloz Jr..

The IMCA Late Model main event was picked up Mike Murphy Jr., with his dad celebrating his birthday, the Colona Illinois driver did not let down his dad, by winning the 25 lap feature. Murphy Jr. Passed early race leader David Englekens on lap 7 and never looked back. Englekens would hold on for 2nd, and IMCA National point leader Kevin Blum was 3rd. Heat races were won by Nate Buesling and David Englekens.

In the 4 Cylinders, Scotty Powell topped the 17 car field by leading green to checkered. Todd Sibley would finish 2nd, and Justin Veloz would wind up 3rd. In heat race action, Powell and Sibley were victorious.

The last event of the night was the Mod-Lite feature, and David Norton picked up another feature win, claiming the lead after early race leader Jason Masengarb had a broken front left axle.. Norton would win the 15 lap feature, with Shon Sanders 2nd, and Jeremy Mowery was 3rd. Heat races were picked up by Norton and Sanders.

Sunday July 26th will be Sexton Ford Back To School Night, with backpacks for the kids. All five classes will be in action, with gates opening at 4pm, and racing at 6pm. Also July 22nd will be the fair race featuring Kenny Schrader in his UMP Modified, battling all the local favorites for the $1000 top prize. Also in action for the Fair will be the UMP Street Stocks battling for $400. Gates open at 5, racing at 7pm.
