White wins first feature event at Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(August 22, 2003) Chuck White began racing in the Mini Stock class at Doe Run Raceway when the class was first formed several years ago and had always dreamed about the day he would win his first feature event. This past Friday night, dreams became reality for White as he captured his first feauture win ever at the Raceway.

Earning a front row starting position by winning his heat race, White jumped out in front at the drop of the green flag and led the field from start to finish. Rounding out the top five of the feature event were: Carl Bellew, Phil Norris, Randy Horton Jr. and Kenny Burch Jr. Following White in the first heat were Carl Bellew, Ron Moser, Eric Bellew and Mike Whitehead. Phil Norris captured the second heat, Burch Jr. second, Chris Pettus third, Horton fourth and Darryll Dickerson fifth.

2001 Dwarf Car Track Champion Todd Williams visited victory line twice, winning both his heat race and the feature event. Williams was followed in the feature by Dom Wadlow, Bobby Black, Glenn Province and John Leahy Jr. Leahy Jr. picked up a second place finish behind Williams in the first heat, Wadlow third. Vince Conway won the second heat with Mike Zaricor second and Neil Hovis third.

Casey Barnhouse added another feature win to what is becoming quite an impressive list this season in the 600cc Multi class. Barnhouse was followed by Junior Ferguson, Brad Loyet, Lance McKinney and Matt Ponder. Loyet won the first heat, Ferguson second and Ponder third. Barnhouse won the second followed by Tommy Boyd and McKinney. Loyet won the six fastest, Barnhouse second and Ferguson third.

Michael Harp has proved virtually unbeatable all season in the Super Stock Kart division and this past Friday was no exception as Harp won both his heat race and the feature event. Kyle Jarrett picked up a pair of second place finishes in both events. Kodi Giessing, Megan Bell and Brad Paquet made up the remaining positions in the feature event. Paquet, Bell and Giessing were third, fourth and fifth to Harp and Jarrett in the heat race.

Pulling double duty by driving a stock kart as well as a super stock kart, Michael Harp was the victor in that class as well, winning the feature event. Shawn Knuckles, Braydon Wright, Andrew Cash and Scottie Hutchins round out the top five. Jesse Wright won the first heat, Harp second and Cash third. Braydon Wright won the second heat followed by Knuckles and Brad Paquet.

Friday night August 29th will be "Racin for Regan Richardson" night at the Raceway. A portion of every pit pass sold will be donated to the Regan Richardson fund. Regan is a 4 year old who is battling the rare bone disease MPS Hurler's Syndrome. To learn more about MPS, visit their web site at www.mpssociety.org. Friday night will also be double points night in all classes.
