Phenix City, Alabama (07/25/12) - William Thomas raced his #22 JW Miller Land & Timber/Mastersbilt Super Late Model to a $3,500 feature win last Thursday night with the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals Series at North Georgia Speedway.

The team traveled to North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Georgia) on Thursday night, July 19th for a $3,500-to-win, Schaeffer's Southern Nationals Series Super Late Model event at the 1/3 mile oval. Thirty-six competitors were on hand for the program, and despite being the final qualifier to take to the speedway Thomas locked into the third starting spot for the 35 lap finale via time trials. In the main event William would pursue the leaders in the opening laps before bolting to the top spot. He would hold the lead until lap 13 when Chris Madden slipped past on a restart. However, the caution would fly again on lap 20 for debris, and during the caution Madden was penalized for jumping the previous restart, which reinstated William to the lead with Vic Hill in second. Once out front again Thomas would go on to lead the remaining fifteen laps to claim the win over Madden, Hill, Mike Marlar, and Billy Ogle Jr. The victory was his seventh of the 2012 season!

Tuesday night, July 24th found William at his home track, East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama) for a $3,500-to-win, Schaeffer's Southern Nationals Series Super Late Model event. In time trials Thomas recorded the sixth fastest time of the twenty-six entries on hand, which locked him into the sixth starting spot for the 35 lap finale. In the main event he would battle in the top ten for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the sixth position behind race winner, Chris Madden, Mike Marlar, Clint Smith, Vic Hill, and Kenny Compton Jr.
