NEW FLORENCE, MO (April 5, 2009) – In the UMP A-Modified division, Vance Wilson picked up his 1st A-Modified feature event of the season. He held off the hard charging Joe Pendergrass and Terry Schultz on his way to win.
In the UMP Limited Late Model division, defending track champion Shawn Rayfield returned to his winning ways by holding off Bobby Dauderman and Tom Krankel to win his first feature of the new season.
Dan Bimson got a good start in defending his 2008 track championship. Dan held off a determined Jake Sewell and Mike Floyd to win his 1st feature event of the 2009 season in the UMP B-Modified division.
Buddy Lowry bested his cousin Eddie Lowry to pick up his first feature event of the season in the UMP Sportsman division.
Bryant Christian a 14 year old rookie prodigy learned that sometimes it’s not always the fastest car that wins the race. The young driver in his first race ever won the feature event in the UMP Mini Stock division.
Bryant’s father, B-Modified driver Brian Christian coached his son before the race to just ease into and out of the throttle and run a smooth race. Bryant followed his dad’s advice and was able to keep his truck under control on the dry slick track as he held off the hard charging Bobo Robinett for the win.
Next up on the schedule of events is a regular night of racing on Saturday night April 12th. Featuring the UMP A-Modifieds, UMP Limited Late Models, UMP B-Modifieds, UMP Sportsmans, and the UMP MCS Mini Stock Division.
Gates open at 5:00 PM Racing at 7:00 PM.
Admission for adults is $10.00, Children under 12 are free.
