World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: Thunderbowl Raceway

WHAT
•The World of Outlaws continue their West Coast swing this weekend with two full nights of racing at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. Last season Jac Haudenschild won at the high-banked 1/3-mile, after taking the lead in a thrilling battle with 20-time series champion Steve Kinser and Sam Hafertepe Jr. in heavy lapped traffic. In eight A-Feature events for the World of Outlaws at the track dating back to 2003, eight different drivers have picked up wins. Kinser won the inaugural event for the series at the bullring six years ago. Other drivers that will be in action this weekend that have won at the track with the World of Outlaws include: Tim Kaeding, Terry McCarl, Joey Saldana, three-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz and three-time series champion Sammy Swindell. Jason Meyers, who won the finale of the Mini Gold Cup last weekend, has three career wins at Thunderbowl Raceway his home track, as he looks for his first victory with the World of Outlaws there.

WHEN

• On Friday, March 20 at Thunderbowl Raceway, the pit gates will open all day, with the grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. Pacific and racing set for 7 p.m. Pacific.

• On Saturday, March 21 at Thunderbowl Raceway, the pit gates will open all day, with the grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. Pacific and racing set for 7 p.m. Pacific.

WHERE
• Thunderbowl Raceway is located in Tulare, California. Travel west of State Road 99 on State Road 137, then 0.5 miles south on K Street, then east (at the fairgrounds).
