World Products Empire State Series at I-88 Speedway on Aug. 30

AFTON, N.Y. (Aug. 24) – The fifth installment of the 2011 tour takes the World Products Empire State Se-ries for IMCA Modifieds to I-88 Speedway for the first time.
Five hundred dollars will be the top prize in the Tuesday, Aug. 30 Thunder On The Thruway fea¬ture event. National, ButlerBuilt Eastern Region, special series and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing set for 7 p.m.
Spectator admission is $18 for adults and free for kids eight and under. Pit passes are $25 with a local track license, $30 without.
I-88 becomes the 18th different track in New York and Pennsylvania to host an event in the nine-plus years the series has been held.

Point leader Eddie Sites was the most recent series winner, on Aug. 10 at his home track, Dunn Hill 2 Speedway.
2009 tour champion Kevan Cook and defending king Chris Fleming also own wins and run 2-3 in points behind Sites with four races left. Josh Sawyer topped the opening night feature.
With the end of IMCA’s regular point season on Sept. 25, World Product Empire State Series races Sept. 30 at Fulton Speedway, Oct. 21 at Black Rock Speedway and Oct. 29 at Five Mile Point Speedway will be for special series points only.
