Farmington, MO (August 15) – The members of Heisel Equipment Company were not disappointed on the return of racing at St Francois County Raceway.

After a two week layoff for the St Francois County Fair and the World of Outlaw spints at I-55. Five Dollar grandstand night brought in a large house of fans. Also in attendance was the General Manager of Gateway International Raceway, Len Beticci. While enjoying the show Len brought along with him two sets of tickets for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Which were given away along with other items.

Tommy Worley returned to the Winners Circle in convincing fashion as he dominated the Main event for the Sprint Division. By winning the feature he completed the “Hat Trick”. Earlier he won his heat and the Dash. On the initial start Worley got the jump to the point with Jimmy Hurley, Casey Barnhouse and Joey Montgomery in hot pursuit. One caution flag slowed the field. Patrick Budde, Bartelso, IL, slowed coming off the corner and staying out of the way came to rest on the track. Restart found the same quartet pulling away from the field. Hurley made a late charge as slower traffic was beginning to come in to play. Worley again the winner, Hurley made second, Joey Montgomery claims third, Joey Boyd finishes fourth and Steve Short rounds out the top five.

The “Big Gun” returned to his winning ways Saturday night. David Shepard, turned the “Hat Trick” in the Modified Division by winning his heat, dash and Feature. Although he won the three events, Shepard had to deal with Matt Eaton. Eaton worked the top of the track. The cushion was rough, but Matt put on a show for the fans. These two would mix it up from the start of the feature. Three attempts were made to start the event. The fourth resulted in a single file line-up. Shepard would lead the first lap, the Eaton took charge for the next 7 laps. Shepard would get around on the low side and hung on for the win. Mike Francis raced his way to a second place finish with a pass at the line over Eaton, who finished third. Defending Track Champion Brent Thompson had his hands full with Jeremy Greenwalt in the battle for fourth. Thompson prevailed and Greenwalt took fifth.

Pure Street Division found a familiar face in the Winners Circle. Brian Blair took the honors on the last lap. Charlie Savage, driving the Dom Wadlow machine, had the field covered for the first fourteen laps of the event. A spinning car on corner two left the two front runners with a choice of where to go. Savage took the high road as opposed to driving through the spinning car. Blair took the bottom and stole the win. Savage stayed in there to finish second. Eddie grass had another fine run for a third place finish. Dave Wofford came home in fourth and Karl Francis complete the top five.

The B-Mods made a second show at SFCR. Kyle Stolzer held off Brad McKinnon, Bryan Richards and Randy Forster for the win. The B-Mods will return to SFCR two more times this season. Check the website at www.sfcr-online.com for dates.

Dave Chilton had little problem with the field in winning the 600 Multi Division. Jason Daugherty and Brian Keen finished in the next two spots. With win the 2008 Doe Run Raceway Champion moved atop the point standings with 6 weeks remaining in the points chase.

Racing will continue next Saturday Night with Fan Appreciation Night. The Annual Kids Nickel Race will be held at intermission. Regular program of Winged Sprints, Modifieds, Pure streets and 600 cc Multis. Gates open at 4:00 pm. Racing will begin around 7:00 pm. Admission at the main grandstand is $10 for adults.
