Farmington, MO - (August 22) - Fan Driver appreciation night at St Francois County Raceway was filled with mega action. Not just the racing, but the Annual Nickel race for the kids. More than 4000 nickels were spread over the front straight. Prizes were donated by the drivers. Special Thanks to Belgrade State Bank, Open MRI of Washington County and C & C Racing product for the nickels. Also thanks to the many locations of Plaza Tire Service, Robart Chiropractic and Charter Communications for special sponsorship for the evenings events.

Tommy Worley, Jr has hit his stride in 2009. Running with Midwest All Star Series on Friday at Bloomington Speedway. Worley claimed his win over Randy Hannigan for his second win with the series.

Saturday night Worley, made it two for the weekend as he won again. By virtue of his finish in the dash, Worley started inside of row two. Jerrod Hull of Sikeston, MO satretd on the pole position and jumped out on the start to the front.

Hull was being chased by Tim Montgomery, Worley and Steve Short into the first turn. Quickly they fell to single file. Hull worked the bottom of the track for the most part, followed by Montgomery. Worley used the top side and made it work.

On lap 17 the red flag came out as Ryan Kempin, Catawissa, MO, made contact with the wall and rolled his mount onto its top. Kempin walked to the ambulance for the customary exam.

The restart found the same duo plus Joey Montgomery working his way toward the front. Montgomery would settle for a third place finish.

Worley claims top honors, Hull stays in second, Joey Montgomery hangs on for third, followed by Jason Hunt in fourth, with Steve Short completing the top five.

Modified action was hot and heavy all night long. At the end of the night Matt Eaton, Park Hills, MO, brought out the broom and completed his “Hat Trick.”

After winning his heat and the dash, Eaton started on the pole for the feature. Alongside was Billy Smith. These two were locked up in the dash and the feature was no different.

Lap after lap these two warriors had good looks at each other. Smith trying his best to make the cushion work to his advantage, had to settle for a fifth place finish as he faded toward the end of the 20 lap event.

Mike Francis, Fredericktown, MO, had a great run for the runner-up slot followed by 2009 Point Leader, David Shepard. Fourth in th efinal count belonged to Brent Thompson with Smith completing the top five.

Pure Street Division belonged to Shane Blair. This was his third win in 2009. Having trouble in the past few weeks with all types of issues, the win was a great relief. Charlie Savage, driving the Dom Wadlow owned machine, ran second. Eddie Gross had a fine run for third, Point Leader Brian Blair makes it to fourth and past Champion Chris Boyd rounds out the top five.

Multi Division found Joe B Miller, Millersville, MO in the Winners Circle again. Miller who drive in the POWRi series completely demolished the field. Kyle Amerson finished second, Devon Huff makes it to third, followed by last weeks winner Dave Chilton, and first time visitor Bobby Zaionte, Columbus, Mississippi, completes the top five.

This race saw a red flag situation for Brandon Nixon as he did the roll over in turn one. He would walk to the ambulance under his own power.

Next Saturday will be a special event for the Pure Streets. These drivers will be competing for a top prize of $600.
