Worley Makes It Four-In-A-Row at SFCR

Butch Hartman of Perryville rolled his mini stock fourth times down the front straight at the St. Francois County Raceway Saturday night with the car coming to rest on top of another vehicle. Despite the severity of the accident, Hartman was alright and will be back at SFCR on September 16th with a special paint scheme dedicated to the 9-11 anniversary.

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (September 2, 2006) Tommy Worley Jr. of Farmington continued to be dominant over the second half of the season at the St. Francois County Raceway as he won his fourth sprint car feature in a row Saturday night. Bryan Matthews was second with A.J. Bruns third, Steve Short fourth and Timmy Montgomery fifth. They were followed by Jim Moughan, Jason Keith, Ricky Logan and Keith Burch. Joey Montgomery won the first heat with Worley second and Matthews third. Bob Thoman won the second heat with Bruns second and Lance Gullo third. Short won the third heat with Nathan Higgins second and Tim Montgomery third. Moughan won the fourth heat with Kenny Hambrick second and Jason Hunt third.
Jimmy Hurley won the "B" main with Logan second and Tom Dickerman third. Moughan won the trophy dash.
In the Modified class, Billy Smith of Park Hills was the winner with Brent Thompson second, Jeremy Greenwalt third, Mike Francis fourth and Shannon Blair fifth. They were followed by Kenny Harris, Derek Shipman, Kenny Kennedy, Matt Eaton and Kasey Nations. Chris Boyd won the first heat with Greenwalt second and Erik Edgar third. Harris won the second heat with Thompson second and Blair third. Smith won the third heat with Francis second and Eaton third.
In the 600cc Multi feature, Mark Shirshekan was the winner with Brad Greer second, Jimmy Bridgeman third, Joey Boyd fourth and Joe Miller fifth. They were followed by Jimmy Stearns, Jake Bess, Lynda Blanke, Rodney Williams and Ryan Kempin. Shirshekan won the first heat with Kempin second and Craig Rixmann third. Boyd won the second heat with Williams second and Bridgeman third.
It was a special night in the Pure Street class with the "Driver's Seat 25" with first place paying $1,000 to win, and Michael Abney Jr. of Belgrade was the winner. He was followed with John Bohn second, Mark Todd third, Dave Wofford fourth and Gary Henson. Chris Boyd won the first heat with Abney second and Eric Sarakas third. Mike Savage won the second heat with Chris Cannon second and Josh DeSpain third. Bohn won the third heat with Henson second and Greg Casey third. Wofford won the fourth heat with Todd second and DeSpain third. Travis Goodman won the "B" main with Paul Warren second and Josh Skaggs third.
In the Mini Stock class, Dave Wofford of Farmington was the feature winner with Bill Nickelson second, Shannon Burch third, Greg Price fourth and Ray Statler fifth. They were followed by Tony Littrell, Tony Moore, Chris Pettus, Michael Albietz and Ken Snowdell. Scott Littrell won the first heat race with Nickelson second, Rob Denny third and Price fourth. Wofford won the second heat with Butch Hartman second, Don Jackson third, and Albietz fourth. Burch won the third heat with Keith Buckley second, Snowdell third and Kyle Counts fourth. The mini stocks will return to St. Francois County for a second race on September 16th.
