Farmington, MO (May 22) -- Top prize on the was $2000 to win for the Sprint Division. Local favorite Tommy Worley, Jr, Farmington, MO picked a great night to win his first feature event of the season. The defending Queens Royal winner started his quest on the outside of the second row behind Keith Burch also of Farmington. Burch took the green flag and headed away followed by Dash winner and pole position starter Jimmy Hurley, Springfield, IL, Tommy Worley and A J Bruns, Lincoln, IL. Thes four would mix it up until a caution waved on Lap8 for the spinning car of Doc Sloan. The restart found little change from the original, Hurley had dropped to fourth. On Lap 18 Ryan Kempin, Catawiss, MO, looked as if he jumped the cushion and rolled his car in turn four. Seeing the incident in front of him develop, Joey Montgomery, Fredericktown, MO had little choice but to also roll his mount to avoid serious contact. Both cars were removed and the drivers walked away. This set a restart with Worley and Bruns on the point. Bruns made his attempt to win for the second time this season coming off the corner in two to take the short lived lead. Worley would gain it back just as quickly. This was a great finish to the feature. Worley commented in his post race interview about his engine. It was a 360 motor in a 410 sprint field. He also said would be going on the road for the next few weeks to run with ASCS down south. Jerrod Hull, Sikeston, MO came home in the runner up position. A J Bruns settles for third. Joey Boyd makes it in for fourth and quietly making his way from 17th place starting position to finish fifth, Tim Montgomery.

Speaking of 17th place starting position, Brent Thompson, Park Hills, MO did his trick too. The only difference was Thompson made his a win, his first of the season. This was a very tough win. First, the amount of cars to pass in 15 laps. Second, keep you car out of any troubles that may happen in front of you. Third, you need a little luck on your side. It took several attempts to get this feature underway. Various event brought out the yellow flag. The feature would start with dash winner Cody Conner, Festus, MO and Jeremy Greenwalt, Potosi, MO on the front row. A couple fo failed attempts later it would revert to a single file start. Conner would pace the field with Greenwalt, Matt Eaton, Park Hills, MO, Alan Conner, Festus, MO and two time 2010 winner Billy Smith, Bonne Terre, MO giving chase. Single file would be order of business with a line or two developing for track position. Some of the drivers were having trouble keeping their “footing” and losing control. Timmy Hill was one, but he would battle his way back to finish in the top 5. Smith, looking for number 3 on the young season, had just taken over the lead when another caution flew. As he was getting his car in the correct line up position, the front end of the car broke and his night was finished. This would help set the stage for another exciting finish. Greenwalt was on point and working the second groove, Thompson glued his mount to the bottom. Three laps remained at this point with neither driver wanting to give an inch. Close as close could be and Thompson claimed the victory. Greenwalt, after a super effort, takes runner up honors. Kasy Nations, Shannon Blair and Timmy Hill complete the top five.

Pure Street action found Chris Boyd, Park Hills, MO in the winners chair for the thirds time in three tries. Boyd did not have an easy time with this one as Jimmy Dunn made it look as if he would catch a win. Dunn would lead the event from the start with Boyd, Kasey Nations and Eric Sarakas in hot pursuit. Cautions on Lap 3, lap 4 and lap5 5 would slow this event. Two of these were for the car of the leader. His car had developed an oil leak, dripping oil on the header and causing a fire. Each was quickly extinguished and he would continue. Finally Dunn gave it up and took it to the pit area and was finished. Boyd would have smooth sailing fro here on out. Boyd also told the crowd that he would have had trouble getting around Dunn. He also mentioned that Dunn would find victory this season. Kasey Nations, Jimmy Farris, Eric Sarakas, and Jason Neel complete the top 5.

Our B-Modified Division found Kenny Harris with the winning honors for the second time this season. “The Hustler” took full advantage of the track conditions and his front row starting spot to gain the win. However, it was not a cakewalk. Harris had a lot of pressure from Mike Savage, Annapolis, MO in the second place mount. Savage tried the high line, but it was to slick. Tucked the car back in behind Harris and was in position to win should Harris make a mistake. Harris did not make any mistakes, took the win followed by Savage, Brad McKinnon, John Bohn, and Shane Blair.
