USRA Meeting

What happened to the post put on by the Clay County Speedway promoter about the USRA meeting in Effingham Il?

October 6th,,but I do not have a time yet. Will post when I get it. Be nice to see what the have to say around this area. Past time for a change in some classes around here.

Not only is it past time it is time! We have to do something because what we are doing now isnt working! I would bet my life on it that none of the St.louis are owners/promotors go to this meeting! I wouldnt bet against Charlie from Brownstown or the promotor from Route 45 going. I believe those will be 2 that will go and possibly will change sanctions. These other ones will stay U.M.P! As sad as it is its the truth! They apperantly are contempt with U.M.P and dont want to listen to the fans, drivers, or car owners! I hope im wrong but i think its a safe bet!

why the change it just isolates you from the other tracks , and still have the same guys doing tech just different shirt and you better check the thickness of your roll cage

Huh?? You made no sense with the comment about the roll cage! Do you even know what your talking about?

rules might be different, but that's what you want but looking at their results I did see a big difference in car counts lmao yep better check your ro cage it is 1 and half its not legal

Just spit out what you have to say about the roll cage instead of beating around the bush! If your talking about my roll cage you are wrong...it is 1" 3/4". The rest of the cage is smaller but the actual roll cage is 1" 3/4" so say what you got to say otherwise just shut up because you actually have no clue as to what your talking about!

Last time i checked 1.666 is smaller than 1.75! So if mine is 1.75 i guess i have nothing to worry about then correct? In all honesty in a hobby stock or street stock if you use anything less 1.75 for the roll cage your a fool and are asking to get hurt! Modifieds and late models you can use 1.50 and be fine but not in a hobby stock or street stock. Again your point is what?

don't know a lot about USRA but when a new group comes in to run the show they should grand father in what cars are already running--that said my predator is good-asis my grt--the rayburn on the other had my be on the thin side (unlike it's driver)

USRA is 1 1/2, IMCA is 1 3/4, in Modifieds at least. Thickness wise they're 095 on main cage and 083 on door bars.

Let's back up a minute. What is the purpose of this meeting? To pitch a complete race program, or a single class? Are late models included in the conversation? I ask because the middle part of the state traditionally features modifieds as their top class. If late models are not part if the conversation, there isnt much to entice the St. Louis area racers and promoters to attend, since late models rule the roost around here.

Ok, never saw any mention of stock cars. As far as late models go, USRA doesn't have much to offer. They did start a USRA "limited late model" class up in the Iowa/Minnesota area with I believe 2 running them this season. Be interesting to see if it takes off.

Doug i would hope it would be for a complete race program. But i think the biggest issue is the late models and a-mod people are just like the tracks...they are very content with being U.M.P! And i see no issue with that because those guys can go to any U.M.P sanctioned track and run but the "support" class's cant! We all need to be on a even playing field. For example the hobby stocks in this area cant go run with the ones from Michigan or Indiana! They are two different cars. If i choose to travel to race i cant do it because my car isnt legal there or i will get my tail handed to me and its vise versa for the other hobby stocks in other areas! Like i said earlier whatever we are doing now isnt working so we must change it now not later! But again as i stated earlier i would bet none of the local promoters or owners will go to that meeting because they dont want to jump from U.M.P!!

Charlie needs UMP. The Summernationals show is his biggest $ maker all season. If he goes another direction, he will need to have an event that can guarantee him the car count and crowd to duplicate their SN date.
