Thats probably a fair assessment, since highland is more afraid of running off cars than making sure they are legal in the bmods (valve springs, lower balljoint mounting points, etc) & street stocks (engines, trailing arm lengths, etc)
I must of missed that first start. View on the incident is perspective of what side of the fence you're on with your favorite driver during hard last lap racing. Good luck to all at the next summit race.
Just watched the video of mod feature. I would be ashamed to accept that win. The leader made the same lap, lap after lap and 2nd place car has no regard for his fellow competitor he's trying to beat, so throws a desperation move and knocks him out. I would be ashamed.
Could the issue be if they had a fast show they wouldn't get the concessions $$$. In highlands case, there's so many hands in the cookie jar the powers that be may not let them have a fast show with less beer sales. Just an observation, because agree, there's no excuse on great weather day...
Does ump have this same rule for a or b mods? If so were they checked at the $5000 to win race at Brownstown last week? Or checked around here at all this year? Just curious
The reason it's racing related is because he is racing legend to this area for several decades. was a hero that was looked up upon by probably 100 of kids over the years. So if anything it proves that everyone is human and not perfect. But hopefully he can now be an example to anyone doing...
you are incorrect on both your posts on this topic. there could of been a Kevin Ward repeat at any point of this video. was that incident good for the sport??
fist fights between drivers might bring fans to the stands but this, where multiple people could of been killed at numerous times in...
double file restarts eliminates the break check (which causes numerous restart cautions a night) because if they do it the cars lined up next to them will pass them. double file restarts were great in this area in the late 80s & early 90s. this forces 2 lanes to be ran making for a racier track...
the ones complaining about a fan boo'ing korte must not of been to highland speedway for the past 20+yrs. its usually 50/50 cheering/boo'ing. both very loud.
