Highland Speedway 8-3-2013 Results

What did you think about the races at Highland? Big field of cars and lots of action on the track. Tyler Diebert won his first feature of the year in the Modified class. Late Model race was good.

I don't get to go to Highland often, a very long drive plus wife's date night , but Jack was right what a night of racing. Show was run tight, track was in great shape. & in the LM you had a feature with KK, 6K, & the Bulldog in 1st 2 rows. OK the 6K had trouble & went out early, still a great race with the Bulldog chasing KK. But to that 1 loud fan up from my section that had the nerve to Boo Randy, I say we don't need fans like you. If you saw him get in & out of his car then hobble up to the mike, you know he's still in a lot of pain. OK would I like to have seen the 6K win , sure, but to boo KK is a crime. If he's not your fav don't yea like the rest of the crowd did. As I've said before to boo any of these drivers who provide us so much entertainment is just wrong, but to boo a man as courageous as Randy is just plain dumb.

I think the track again this week was pretty damn good and racey again with the 84 on the bottom and the 3E on the highside put on another great show in the modifieds, I didnt get to see the late models but I heard the 81 ran away and hid from everyone but the rest of the field was putting on another great show. and in regards to the fan who boo'ed the 81 after his win I agree with mvalentine, if you could walk a mile in Randy's shoes and still race then you have the right to boo him, I was taught when i was a very young kid you don't have to like them and you don't have to clap for who ever wins but you better never boo him because when you do you HAVE NO CLASS!!!!

thats my opinion

Wow, y'all talk about freedom of speech, and then when someone boo's a driver, cancer or not, you slam them? That person doesn't have to like Randy. That person may respect his courage to push through with the treatments and keep driving, but doesn't have to make him his #1 driver, and if they want to boo, let 'em boo. Who said it? "If they're not booing you, you're not winning."

Oh, and I wasn't there, I was at I-55.

Let's see how many people don't read this entire post, and accuse me of being the boo'er.

the ones complaining about a fan boo'ing korte must not of been to highland speedway for the past 20+yrs. its usually 50/50 cheering/boo'ing. both very loud.

Would have loved to see that race had Michael's car held together. Was nice to see Korte back at Highland, though.

LOL, your loss, not mine. :p BTW, my post was revelent, regardless of whether or not I was there.

It is part of Highland race fans. They fans like to sit together based on driver preference. Many fans don't like some drivers and that is part of what has been going on for years and will continue. It is just part of Highland.

Yes, Randy Korte has gone though a lot with his health, but he can still drive a race car. His health issues have been well documented in print and on local TV.

I've had my say, now I'll move on to a pleasant surprise. Like I said don't make it to Highland often, but the Winged micro I thought wouldn't be that much fun to watch, turned out was dead wrong, they provided great racing sometimes 4 wide & were amazingly fast. Looking forward to seeing them again.
