BULLS GAP, Tenn. (June 12) – While the huge crowd in attendance Saturday at Volunteer Speedway was down on the track and in the pits enjoying special opportunities to meet the drivers prior to the evening of racing, the skies opened up, quickly dumping approximately an inch and a half of rain on the track to wash out “Fan Appreciation Night at the Races.”

“We had a great turnout of fans for this special ‘Fan Appreciation Night’ event, and it’s just a shame that after (weather) being so nice around the East Tennessee region all day long the torrential thunderstorm moved in and washed the racing program out,” said track owner Joe Loven. “Both the fans and drivers alike really look forward to getting to ‘meet and greet’ one another up close, and we’ll reschedule this event in late July, a couple of weeks after we get our Southern All Stars race out of the way. I want to thank everyone who came out, but there’s nothing any of us can do when it comes to controlling the weather.”

With Volunteer Speedway not racing on Saturday, June 19, those holding grandstand ticket stubs … they may be used on Saturday, June 26. But if used on that date you must pay an additional $2, due to the normal weekly racing shows costing $7. However, if you choose to hold the ticket stub until the rescheduled July “Fan Appreciation Night,” you will not have to pay extra to get in. Pit armbands from Saturday, June 12 … they will be honored only on Saturday, June 26.
