‘Kid Rocket’ Scores Top 10 At KC Raceway

Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards of Shinnston, WV finished out the weekend with the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series are in Chillicothe, OH at KC Raceway on Friday June 17th and Saturday June 18th for the $20,000 to win “Veterans Appreciation 100”. During Saturday night’s grand finale for the weekend Kid Rocket came home a stout seventh in the final rundown. He also earned the ‘Rookie of the Race’ award.

During the two-day event Kid Rocket drove his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand Prix to an impressive victory in the third heat. His qualifying time, held during time trials on Friday evening, was 14.249, seventh fastest out of the 39-car field.

On Saturday Kid Rocket participated in a pre-race “Party In The Pits” from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM featuring several of the World Of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series drivers in a “meet and greet” with live music and concessions.

The two-day event at Jim Nier’s KC Raceway kicked off on Friday night with time trials and a special non-point feature event. The fastest six World Of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series drivers in time trials went against the fastest six non-World Of Outlaws drivers in a 15 lap - $2,000 to win affair with 17-year-old Kid Rocket taking home his career first victory after starting fourth.

Starting fourth in the special Stacker 2 WoO LMS non-point feature Kid Rocket slugged it out with some of the hottest drivers in the business Friday night and took the lead dramatically on the first lap coming off turn four and eventually took the win over Jackie Boggs, Billy Moyer, Steve Francis, Rick Eckert, Rob Blair, Rod Conley, Mike Balzano, Eddie Carrier Jr., Dale McDowell, John Blankenship and Chub Frank.

This Friday evening Kid Rocket will return to the pavement as he will once again compete in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series NAPA Late Models division at Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, PA. Kid Rocket will drive Neil Brown’s Late Model.

The World Of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series band of travelers will venture to Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, NY Monday, June 27th, Fulton Speedway in Fulton, NY Wednesday, June 29th and then to Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, NJ Thursday, June 30th. A travel day will get the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series to Stateline Speedway in Jamestown (Busti), NY Saturday, July 2nd. Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE hosts the series Wednesday, July 6th followed by separate events at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD Friday, July 8th and Saturday, July 9th. The long trek winds up at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH Tuesday, July 12th.
