‘Party in Pevely’ at I-55 Raceway Falls to Freezing, Rainy Weather Outlook

Good call on the cancellation!!! I know first hand it's hard to make the call early, but they did the right thing. Wasn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last time! I'm with Debbie, Dirtgirl, Talker Guy and all the other faithful fans! I'll be there in the stands cheering when Mother Nature decides to cooperate! Thanks Marlers! I didn't want to be freezing my fanny off tonight either (and I could USE to freeze some of it off!)

Not to mention, this wasn't just a local show. There was probably many racers who were gonna be driving quite a ways. So why cost them the money to get here to get canceled.

I'm no weather expert but watching the storms as they moved and developed across the states heading our way even I could see this one coming. See my thought is a true race fan or driver cannot only see the road ahead of him but can also read a weather radar and the sky. So If you were looking at all the weather channels and things and didnot see this coming you need glasses. We were supost to practice on the kart track Sunday so we were looking for a great weekend of racing but common sence told us don't even worry. Not happening. Heck saves me money I didnot have anyway. Plenty of hot, dry, summer nights ahead. Ray if you are seeing this, good call and see you Monday

Dirthound...why don't you just admit that Ray made the right call? Your probably all snuggled up in front of your wood stove right now.

Okay, im sorry that my response got taken the wrong way. Im sorry for being excited to go racing and then getting really bummed out and writing "Thats not cool".. I knew that there was a slim chance of getting the race in, but that is part of what we do. We drive hours when there is a 70% chance of rain because we love to race. I had been checking the weather everyday for the past week hoping that the forcast would change. Our car was ready to go, the trailer packed, and I was leaving Springfield, MO to come back for it when I found out. I write one one response and then get criticized because I get bummed out. Well sorry for being optimistic. The track DID make the write call and I agree completely with it. Nobody would have been in the stands. Am I bummed out? Hell yes I am. Am I ready to go racing next weekend? Yes I am and we will be headed down to West Plains for their opening night.

There I responded and said what I had to say. Nothing against you TTG or anybody else, we all have our opinions and things get taken the wrong way way to easy on here.

Will I be back to try to race the next time that they have the Roundup? Yes I will.

Lets go racing!!!

Here are some links for hound and the rest of you whiny azz crybabies who think the stl area promotors are the only ones who cancel their scheduled events because of cold weather or reliable weather forcasting.

You ridiculous cretans need to find another hobby or form of entertainment if you are so infuriated with how the business men you so willingly give your hard earned money to choose to run their operation.

bunch of candy --- rookies I ve been number of races when it snowed have you know if ain't 75 degrees out you stay at home hey king eddy are you living in the past couple od those were a year ago kinda going of the deep end aren't you lmfao

No, not living in the past Fred. But you are. Your the one who keeps saying "I've been to races.....". Big deal, you been to races in the past where it has snowed. So have I. But these are different times, and with consumers much more fickle in deciding how they spend their hard earned money, promotors have to make smart decisions based on facts and not emotions. And the facts are these....Only the hardcore fans would have came out the first night and less than half would return to endure a second night of freezing temps. Traveling teams would have stayed away with the threat of weather and high fuel costs making the risk unjustified. The promoter would have lost his butt on this show if it were ran. And the whiners would still be whining. (ie...the track was rough, where were the big names, etc. etc. etc.)

As far as me going off the deepend????? Look at who left the diving board bouncing there buddy. You whiners splashed all the water out of the pool with your stupidity and selfishness.

yeah king eddy my mistake we have an idiot running the country right now you said bush was bad lmfao
?????????? What does this have to do with anything???????

Good God Fred, are you going to be an idiot all your life? Our economy is what it is. Whos running things and whos fault it is, is irrelevant to this conversation. Stop being a moron.

If the precipitation would have held off, I would have been there regardless of temps. The track definitely made the right decision, and at the right time.

If you want your racing fix, head to DuQuoin for the POWRi show. Won't have to worry about temperatures or precipitation.
