‘Team Edge’ Customers Finishing 2007 Racing Season In Style

Windber, PA (September 5, 2007) Chris Rhodes of Edge Racing Engines would like to send out some congratulations to a handful of his ‘Team Edge’ customers on their extremely successful 2007 campaign’s as well as welcome a few new and old faces to the ‘Team Edge’ contingent.

Dan Stone followed up his ‘upset’ World of Outlaws Late Model Series win at Tri-City Speedway with another win at Penn Can Speedway on Friday, September 7th. Dan also had a strong run at Hagerstown Speedway’s ‘Hub City’ 150 with a fifth place finish and was followed across the finish line by another ‘Team Edge’ driver, Jim Bernheisel who finished sixth.

Randy Smithley of Bolivar, PA put his Smithley Construction sponsored Lazer Chassis in victory lane at Dog Hollow Speedway on Friday, September 7th while fellow ‘Team Edge’ competitor Clate Copeman took home the 2007 Dog Hollow Speedway Track Championship. “Team Edge’ was dominant at the Strongstown, PA oval by winning over half of the Late Model feature events at the speedway as well as putting four drivers in the top five of the 2007 season standings. Bill Krause finished third behind Copeman with Smithley in fourth and Dan Lee who ended the season in the fifth slot.

Edge Racing Engines also had a strong year at Lernerville Speedway putting three drivers in the top ten in the Budweiser point standings. Gary Lyle finished a strong second with 2006 Lernerville Speedway Champion Lynn Geisler in fourth and Kenny Schaltenbrand was eighth. Ken and Krista also just celebrated the birth of their baby girl on Wednesday, September 19th! Congratulations and Good Luck from Edge Racing Engines!

Another strong ‘Team Edge’ member, Scott Richwine also had a solid season at the Susquehanna Speedway finishing 2nd in the year long points battle.

Chris would like to congratulate all the drivers on a great season and thank them for their business in 2007. “Team Edge has over 30 feature wins, 2 track championships, and countless heat wins, top 5’s and top 10 finishes this year,” mentioned Rhodes. “I didn’t expect less, these drivers I do work for, each one of them, are capable of winning and running well on any given night. They are very talented, and I’m proud to be associated with each one of them.”

Edge Racing Engines would also like to welcome four new drivers to the ‘Team Edge’ contingent, Shane and Shelly Beegle, Billy Eash, Jr., and Shawn ‘Sheetz’ McGarvey. Shane Beegle has been driving Late Models for years at tracks such as Bedford Speedway, Thunder Valley Raceway, and ‘The Rock’ Allegany County Speedway. Shane debuted a new Edge Racing Engine at Central Pennsylvania Speedway for the Nationals. His wife, Shelly is enjoying her first year in the Street Stock division and looks forward to next year and her partnership with Edge Racing Engines. Billy Eash, Jr. is a second generation driver and recently got back into racing and will soon have his ‘Edge’ on the competition. Shawn McGarvey will be in a different car next year that will put ‘Sheetz’ back on the ‘Team Edge’ roster.

Edge Racing Engines would also like to offer their condolences to friend Gene Kain on the loss of his mother, Millie, and to Bill Krause on the loss of his dog, Dudley. Both Millie and Dudley were often seen at the local tracks and will be missed.

Their client list features the likes of National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member Lynn Geisler, Mid-Atlantic Championship Series regulars Jim Bernheisel and Dan Stone, former Lernerville Speedway Champion Gary Lyle, former SMODA Champion Doug Glessner as well as Bryan Bernheisel, Jim Pitkavich, Randy Smithley, Scott Richwine, Ken Shaltenbrand, Rich Womeldorf, Clate Copeman, and Jeff Compton to name a few.
