“Chub Frank Travel’s 24th Annual Dirt Track World Championship”

Atlanta, GA. – Chub Frank and the Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, Allstar Performance, Rocket Chassis Chevrolet 1* team made the trip to Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY. on Friday to compete with the World of Outlaw Late Models in the 24th Annual Dirt Track World Championship, founded and promoted by Carl Short. The winner of this years Dirt Track World Championship will pay the winner of the prestigious race $60,000 out of an overall total purse of $175,000.

On Friday the 1* Lester Building team unloaded and prepared for the 2 day big event at Bardstown, KY. for qualifying, 93 cars were on hand and Chub qualified 3rd quick starting him in the 3rd heat race starting 4th after 3 attempts to get the heat race started. They lined up the 3rd heat race single file with Chub starting behind Mark Banal, Bart Hartman and right behind Jessie Lay. At the drop of the green Hartman took the lead going into turn one from Banal as Chub went under Banal coming out of turn two and passed Hartman in turn three for the lead Chub went on to win the 3rd heat race transferring him into the 24th Annual Dirt Track World Championship main event starting in 6th place on the starting grid.

On Saturday evening the 1* Lester Buildings team returned to Bardstown, KY. for night #2 of the 24th Annual Dirt Track World Championship and the $60,000 first place prize money. With the temperatures predicted to be in the 40s tonight’s starting times were moved up to 5:00 pm. The start of this years Dirt Track World Championship was brought to the green flag by Mike Marlar and Rick Eckert and the first yellow flew on the 2nd lap when Marlar spun now with Chub running in 4th place. On lap 31 another caution Chub was now running 3rd after getting by Billy Moyer for 3rd place. Lap 45 brought out a caution for Timmy Mc Creadie Eckert still leading with Shannon Babb in 2nd and Chub in 3rd. On the 66th lap a 5th caution flag was thrown this time for Freddy Smith who came to a stop in turn 3. Another caution on lap for Steve Francis the running order at this point was 1st rick Eckert, Babb, Chub, Moyer, Brad Neat, and Scott Bloomquist. The final finish would be 1st Rick Eckert, 2nd Shannon Babb, 3rd Chub Frank, 4th Billy Moyer, 5th Brad Neat, 6th Scott Bloomquist, 7th Wendell Wallace, 8th Dan Schlieper, 9th John Blankinship and 10th was Brad Hall.

Up next for Chub Frank Racing will be a doubleheader in two weeks for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series as the Dirty Dozen head into finale Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS on Friday October 29th & 30th .
